Avicii, also known at Tim Berg, has become one of the most influential and respected Dj's of 2011. He's amazed crowds worldwide, and given fans that out-of-body feeling that house music lovers crave, but is the music really HIS?
Unlike many producers, Avicii has used content from as far back as 1962, and has branded it as his own. The ongoing debate, about whether he has enhanced previous artist inspirations or obtained undeserving credit from compositions which haven't originated from him, is sure to remain.
One thing is for sure.....
He's been bringing back the music, and bringing up ticket sales, while spinning commercial sets. In no way are we questioning his talent; the sole focus is on how it's being used.
We want the listeners to hold on to their opinions, lose their minds and focus on how music makes them feel. The truth of the matter is that music was made for the enjoyment of EVERYONE so let's keep it available for EVERYONE, while remembering it's roots.
